About
About
I'm a data scientist and ML engineer based in Naples, Florida. My background spans neuroscience research, industry data science, and government regulatory data.
Available for contract work — remote or hybrid. Currently taking on engagements around data pipelines, LLM / OCR automation, and applied ML. Easiest way to reach me is email.
What I do
I build AI and data pipelines that turn messy, high-stakes data into clean, usable systems. Recently that's meant LLM and OCR pipelines for state regulatory work, and before that, statistical modeling and product analytics in industry.
I'm most comfortable in environments where the data is messy, the requirements are unclear, and the output still has to be right.
Background
I studied neuroscience at Georgia State University (B.S., 2020, concentration in Philosophy), and later picked up data-science coursework through CU Boulder.
Before moving into industry I spent several years in neuroscience research — first as a research assistant in the GSU Neurophysics Lab doing fMRI and EEG analysis, then as lab manager of the Perception, Attention & Consciousness Lab at the University of Florida. I co-authored a peer-reviewed paper on metacognition and causal inference in audiovisual speech (Multisensory Research, 2023).
How I work
I default to small, reproducible tools over heavy services. I like SQLite more than I should. I'd rather ship a slightly-too-simple pipeline I can debug at 11pm than a clever one I can't. The research background keeps me honest about how easy it is to fool yourself with a number that looks good.
